First things first!

This blog will be food/cooking related (hopefully, mostly). Cooking is one of my passions, and I love having a space to share about it. I love cooking for others, any gathering is an excuse for me to whip something up or try a new recipe. You know that Friends episode where Monica freaks out and is like “IM THE HOSTESS!!!”? Well, that’s me, because I just love cooking and entertaining. I’ll host Friendsgiving and then say that I’ll make every. single. dish.

I started my instagram (@ bigmoodfood) to post pics of all my recipes/food just because it’s fun. However, I feel like I can’t write a lot because frankly, people probably won’t read it all. Hopefully, if you are on here, you care enough about me or food to actually read it! On here I hope I can reach a broader audience. For real, how many hashtags to I need to put on a picture of cake to get some attention on my insta???

This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates.

Hello

I’m Leah, and I’ve created this blog to talk about food, the food I’m making, share my own recipes, find new recipes, and talk about anything food/cooking related.

My favorite foods are chicken pot pie, chicken salad, chili, Panera’s butternut squash soup, and chocolate cake.

Some foods I absolutely do not like are beets, pork chops, cottage cheese, and sauerkraut (random, I know).

I eat/cook most all other things (not big on seafood, but will cook it, and maybe even try it). For my day-to-day foods, I try to cook relatively healthy. Although I am not a vegetarian, I make a lot of vegetarian and vegan dishes. I also make (and eat) my fair share of unhealthy, indulgent food (so many cakes, biscuits and gravy, Taco Bell crunchwrap supremes).

I get a lot of my recipes from Delish, Tasty, and Pinterest. However, I do have a hugeee cookbook collection (it’s excessive, but I could never part with a single one). Taste of Home cookbooks are my favorite, and I also really like Southern Living. Most of them were my grandmother’s and I got a lot of old, hometown Southern kind of cookbooks as well. Recently I have become obsessed with Chrissy Teigen, her old food blod, and her cookbooks. It was her blog that inspired me (a non-chef, like her) to start a food blog (like her). Maybe one day I’ll be a cookbook author with a model’s body and lots of money (again, like her).
